Be careful to make it home before midnight after joining Music Director Thierry Fischer for selections from one of Prokofiev’s most beloved ballet scores.
Concert Highlights Include:
· Composed during the worst year of his life and written off as pretentious and unplayable, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto has risen to the highest ranks of the virtuoso repertoire.
· Prokofiev’s irresistible melodic genius takes center stage in a suite of scenes from his glorious version of the classic fairy tale, which the world needed more than he could have known in 1945.
· Maestro Fischer will treat the Abravanel audience to an important voice from his new second home in São Paolo, the celebrated Brazilian composer Paulo Costa Lima.
