PEAU (Pasifika Enriching Arts of Utah) is proud to present our first traditional Hawaiian lei making series, taught by Kumu Pomaika’i Gaui. This series will focus on the traditional art of lei making, which involves using fresh flowers and plants to make Hawaiian necklaces and head pieces. Each week, you will learn a different type of lei, and will also learn the Hawaiian background and vocabulary that make these culturally relevant and important.
