Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center Celebrates Grand Opening on June 1, 2021
Public Invited to Tour the Venue at June Open House Events

The long-awaited Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center opens to the public on June 1, 2021. This new, professionally operated theater is a Salt Lake County facility and is managed by Salt Lake County’s Arts & Culture Division. The Performing Arts Center is located in Taylorsville on the City Hall campus.

To celebrate the new venue, Arts & Culture will host a series of public Open Houses on June 1st, 3rd, and 5th. Activities will include self-guided tours, short performances, and other events to be announced on the Arts & Culture website, saltlakecountyarts.org. “We can’t wait to welcome the public to this gorgeous new venue,” said Matt Castillo, Arts & Culture’s Division Director. “In addition to performances and other events, Mid-Valley will serve as an important community arts space with two stunning public art pieces and an art gallery in the lobby.”

The Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center fulfills a long-documented need and desire for public performance and rehearsal space in this fast-growing region of the County. The venue is thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of both community and professional arts groups and includes the 430-seat Mainstage Theater; the 220-seat Studio 5400 Black Box; and the Centennial Room, a multi-use rehearsal and event space.

Taylorsville partnered with Salt Lake County in making a financial contribution and providing the land for the venue through a long-term ground lease.
