  • The internationally-acclaimed hit theater show, The Simon & Garfunkel Story, is an immersive concert-style theater show chronicling the amazing journey shared by the folk-rock duo, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. It tells the story from their humble beginnings to their incredible success in the ‘60s and their dramatic split in 1970. It culminates with the famous “The Concert in Central Park” reunion in 1981.

In January 2011, Delfeayo and the Marsalis family (father Ellis and brothers Branford, Wynton, and Jason) earned the nation’s highest jazz honor – a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Award.
The Gifted Music School presents Peace Through Music on Oct 26 at the Jeanné Wagner Theatre
  • This concert is raising funds to bring free music education programs to children in conflict zones and refugee camps around the world. Enjoy performances by Violinist Aubree Oliverson, Soprano Celena Shafer, and Gifted Music School’s Conservatory Orchestra led by Maestro Conner Covington. Special guest Kurt Bestor will also perform.
The State Room presents Todrick Hall: Haus Party Tour on Oct 29 at the Jeanné Wagner Theatre
  • Multi-talented singer, rapper, actor, director, choreographer, and YouTube personality, Todrick Hall rose to prominence on American Idol. He is famous for original songs, choreographed flash mobs for Beyoncé, musical collaborations, and appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race as a guest judge. First Row & Illusion presents Teo González on Oct 19 at Abravanel
  • Teo Gonzalez also is known as “the horsetail comedian” is an icon of the Mexican comedy. His career began while he was the goalkeeper of Club Leon of the first Mexican division, he made his teammates laugh a lot, which led him to enter professional comedy. This show will be performed in Spanish
Awkward Productions presents Bubbles the Clown on Oct 20 at the Jeanné Wagner Theatre

Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation presents Hong Xu on Oct 11 at the Jeanné Wagner Theatre
  • Hong Xu, a “technically brilliant and insightful musician” (The New York Times), brings an emotionally-charged program, with the music of Liszt, Mozart, and Scriabin offering joyous bells, soul-searching prayer, sonorous harmonies, and transformative melodies. This concert is part of Gina Bachauer’s Concert Series.
Utah Opera presents Verdi’s La Traviata on Oct 12 – 20 at
  • Come experience Verdi’s heartbreaking masterpiece that moved Julia Roberts’ character to tears in Pretty Woman. The beautiful, but ill, courtesan Violetta Valéry falls in love with the upper-class gentleman Alfredo Germont and trades her life of pleasure for an idyllic life in the country with him. When pressure from Alfredo’s father to leave becomes too much, she flees, leaving only a note. But Alfredo isn’t going to stand aside as he sees her on the arm of another man.
Utah Symphony presents Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini on Oct 25 -26 at Abravanel Hall
  • Let the Utah Symphony show you the artistic soul of Russia with a concert of undisputed classics including Mussorgsky/Rimsky-Korsakov’s Night on Bald Mountain, Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, and Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5. You can also learn more about the evening’s music at a pre-concert lecture 45 minutes before the concert in the First Tier Room. Also, enjoy Lobby Fest performances 30 minutes before the performance by members of the Utah Symphony’s Youth Guild.
Ballet West presents Ballet Russes on Oct 25 – Nov 2 at Capitol Theatre
  • Explore the origins of Balanchine’s choreographic genius in this historic triple bill, reconstructing his most significant early works. Le Chant du Rossignol (The Song of the Nightingale) is a tale of a mysterious songbird that cures an ailing Chinese emperor. Balanchine’s Apollo follows the young god as he is ushered into adulthood by the muses of poetry, mime, and dance. Finally, Prodigal Son‘s story of sin and redemption presents a universal message through an expressive score and provocative movement.

KUED Channel 7 presents Marriner S. Eccles Documentary on Oct 7 at the Jeanné Wagner Theatre
  • Join KUED and Salt Lake County for a public screening of Marriner Eccles: Father of the Modern Federal Reserve. The Honorable Jerome H. Powell will be in attendance and will make some remarks before the film. In this one-hour film, KUED’s award-winning Producer-Director-Writer John Howe provides an in-depth look at the Utahn who helped lead the U.S. out of the Great Depression by devising innovative ways to stimulate the economy.
Matchstick Productions presents Return to Send’er on Oct 16 at the Jeanné Wagner Theatre
  • The skills, backstories, and mindsets of four elite freeskiers—a renowned veteran, a stunning rookie, a mind-blowing innovator and a big mountain star carrying on his father’s legacy —are all captured in oversized personal segments based largely around each skier’s home turf.   • Come kick off winter with Warren Miller’s 70th film, Timeless, presented by Volkswagen, and adventure from the slopes of the Rockies to the rooftops of the Alps alongside top athletes, including Utah native Marcus Caston. NPR presents Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me! on Oct 24 – 25 at Eccles Theater
  • Now in its 22nd season, Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! is National Public Radio’s Peabody Award-winning comedy news quiz show. These special appearances in Salt Lake City mark our 1000th original performance since our debut in 1998.
