The Utah Music Teachers Association (UMTA) is a nonprofit organization of over 500 music teachers, independent and collegiate, who share the vision of furthering the art of music through programs that encourage and support teaching and performance. UMTA was organized in 1955 and has been an affiliate of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) since 1956.

The Intermountain Suzuki String Institute (ISSI) is the largest summer Suzuki program in the world, offering an intensive music camp for students of all ages and abilities on violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, and trumpet, along with a comprehensive teacher training program. Through inspiring instruction from world-class international faculty and a strong sense of community, ISSI fosters meaningful musical and personal growth. Our mission is to provide the highest-quality music education for teachers and students in the Suzuki Method and beyond, while nurturing individual potential and enriching the human spirit.
