SYNOPSIS:
Join us as conductor Anna Rakitina makes her Utah Symphony debut, and William Hagen—an international competition award-winning soloist and Utah Native—returns to our stage at Maurice Abravanel Hall to perform Dvorák’s Violin Concerto. Sibelius’ First Symphony will close the performance with the consuming and passionate Quasi una fantasia (“Like a Fantasy”). Also featured in the evening’s program is Smetana’s Šárka—based on the Czech legend of an uprising of women called “The Maiden’s War”.
Please note that, due to illness, acclaimed violinist William Hagen will replace Sirena Huang as guest soloist.
