Defining Courage is an immersive, live multimedia stage show by Emmy-winning journalist David Ono, honoring the heroic but little-known story of the Nisei soldiers (Japanese Americans) who fought for the U.S. in segregated WWII units, showcasing their bravery against prejudice at home and enemies abroad through stunning visuals, music, and eyewitness accounts.
Run time: 90 minutes, no intermission.
Age policy: Recommended for mature audience 18 and up. All patrons require a ticket regardless of age.

Live at the Eccles presents NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON: AN ASTROPHYSICIST GOES TO THE MOVIES – PART II on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at the Eccles Theater in downtown Salt Lake City. ArtTix is the official source for tickets for Live at the Eccles events.
Tyson is the fifth head since 1935 of the world-renowned Hayden Planetarium in New York City and the first occupant of its Frederick P. Rose Directorship. He is also a research associate of the Department of Astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History.
Derived from an entirely different set of films, from the Wizard of Oz to Mary Poppins to 2001: A Space Odyssey to Harry Potter to A Bug’s Life. Tyson presents an entertaining and enlightening review of all the science that our favorite movies got wrong, combined with some of the stuff they got right. Incorporating the latest films as well as some classics that you may not have known had any science in them at all.
SECURITY & BAG RESTRICTIONS:
Please allow for extra time for security checkpoints at the entrance to the venue. For the safety and security of our guests and performers, the Eccles Theater is limiting the size of bags allowed to 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. Oversized bags and unauthorized items will need to be returned to their vehicles prior it entering the building. No exceptions.
