The Black Bow: a memory that still wanders the soul.
Symbolic of the memories we hold in the back of our minds, this show, in a novelistic way, is an exploration of my interpretation of the five stages of grief.
It’s a poetic narration of a contemporary creation. The emotions within each stage of grief are tangibly reconciled through words compiled over the years.
Many pages filled with poetry; now the stage is filled with choreography, stemming from words I believe to be pertinent and relatable.
A story from long ago...about letting go, artistically and metaphorically, to be remembered as The Black Bow.
Run time: 95 minutes, with 15 minute intermission.
Age policy: Recommended for ages 8 and up. All patrons require a ticket including infants being held.

When curious villagers Swanhilda and Franz discover her toyshop, imagination and mischief set the toys dancing at last. A charming ballet filled with whimsy, heart, and joyful celebration for the whole family.

The Frederick Quinney Lawson Ballet West Academy presents students from our Salt Lake City campuses in Bournonville and Balanchine. This performance highlights the repertoire of August Bournonville whose historic choreography showcases the technical proficiency of our hard-working students. Complimentary to the Bournonville is the iconic choreography from the George Balanchine repertoire. This spring we are featuring his Square Dance.

Join artÉmotion for an inspiring evening at the ballet for the fourth annual A Night to Remember performance featuring dancers from the artÉmotion Adult Ballet Summer Intensive! Since its inception in 2016, artÉmotion has brought together over 100 recreational ballet dancers from around the world for an adult intensive every summer, in Salt Lake City. Dancers aged 18-80 partake in training and the creation of five world premiere ballet pieces. In the past, participants had performed for an in-studio audience. In 2023, artÉmotion moved the performance to The Rose – Jeanné Wagner Theatre.
