Salt Lake County’s Arts & Culture division is a team of dedicated professionals with a passion to support and expand the County’s arts and cultural community. We are committed to fostering deep community connections through shared arts and cultural experiences, and we support this mission with our Spaces, Places, Services, and Programs.
Our Spaces, Places & Services
Arts & Culture provides exceptional performance and creation spaces, event and technical management services, and ticketing through ArtTix. At each of our five performance venues – Maurice Abravanel Hall, Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre, George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Theater, Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center, and Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center – we strive to ensure each client, performer, and patron has an extraordinary experience. We provide essential operations and maintenance support to the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, allowing them to focus on their exhibitions and programs.
Our Programs
Art in Public Places
Art in Public Places manages and curates the County’s Visual Art and Percent for Art collections and provides support for visual artists, and places art in County facilities and other community spaces around the valley for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Community Engagement
We offer community building events, programs, and resources to engage new and underrepresented audiences; nurture arts organizations, arts professionals, and individual artists; and increase the organizational capacity of local arts organizations.
Zoo, Arts & Parks (ZAP)
ZAP provides financial support and capacity building services for Salt Lake County’s nonprofit artistic, cultural, botanical, and zoological organizations for the benefit of County residents and visitors.

Utah Symphony
The Utah Symphony is one of America’s major symphony orchestras; it is renowned internationally for its distinctive performances and recording legacy. The Symphony has a rich 75-year history of international and domestic tours, award-winning recordings, and in-depth educational programs. The orchestra’s 85 full-time professional musicians perform over 175 concerts each season.

UMOCA
The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art believes in the power of the art of our time. Through programming, advocacy, and collaboration, we work with artists and communities to build a better world.
Capitol Theatre
Ballet West
Ballet West showcases a rich and varied repertoire, presented by elegant and versatile artists in a dynamic, expansive, and unexpected style. Its eclectic and ever-expanding outlook makes Ballet West a pioneer in the world of dance. Ballet West creates and performs most of its season at the Capitol Theatre.
Utah Opera
A focus on new works and non-traditional audiences has helped Utah Opera broaden opera-goers horizons. The company’s high production standards and vibrant energy have delighted patrons with both new and classical works.
The Rose
Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation
The Bachauer Foundation sponsors events, concerts, and competitions to enrich Salt Lake City’s culture by providing musical experiences for audiences and performers. The foundation has helped more than 1,000 pianists participate in young, junior, and amateur piano competitions.
Plan-B Theatre Company
This award-winning company produces socially conscious theater with a local point of view and explores global stories from a local perspective. Plan-B also works to nurture a pool of Salt Lake City playwrights that rivals any other city in the country.
Pygmalion Productions
Pygmalion Theater Company creates performances that share the human experience through the eyes of women.
Repertory Dance Theatre
For 50 years, Repertory Dance Theatre (RDT) has pushed the boundaries of modern dance, while preserving and celebrating its legacy. RDT is the nation’s oldest and most successful repertory dance company. Unlike conventional modern dance organizations, we present you with a diverse range of modern dance styles and choreographers paired together in dynamic and unexpected performances.
Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company
For the last 50 years, the internationally renowned Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company has made contemporary dance accessible to everybody through performance and education. The Company is well-known for producing innovative and original works, touring nationally and internationally, and providing dance education.
Regent Street Black Box at the Eccles
Jaks Theatre Company
Jaks Theatre Company is a unique program for young people, providing instruction in the basic components of performing arts.
The Sting & Honey Company
The Sting & Honey Company believes the theater should be a place of creation, beauty, and awe. They achieve this ideal by providing an environment where artists and audiences can open themselves to that transcendence peculiar to live theater.
Utah Classical Guitar
Utah Classical Guitar is dedicated to promoting classical music and music education to the State of Utah by means of classical guitar performances, clinics, master classes, outreach concerts, and education programs.
Wasatch Theatre Company
Wasatch Theatre Company produces timely, relevant, and entertaining theatre by supporting diverse artists and providing opportunities for unique voices to stimulate conversation, increase empathy, and empower positive social change.
Eccles Theater Arts Partners
Arts & Culture is working in partnership with Broadway Across America and MagicSpace Entertainment to play a larger role in booking and promoting events at the Eccles Theater. The partnerships are in place to generate activity and excitement around new and traditional programming and attract wider audiences to the Eccles.
Broadway at the Eccles
The Zions Bank Broadway at the Eccles series is presented by Broadway Across America in partnership with Salt Lake County Arts and Culture. Since its inaugural season in 2016, Broadway at the Eccles has hosted hit Broadway touring shows including Hamilton, Wicked, Lion King, Beautiful, Finding Neverland and Waitress.
Live! at the Eccles
Live at the Eccles hosts a variety of live performances ranging from concerts to kids entertainment and boasting hit touring shows including Wild Kratt’s Live, Robert Plant, the Head and the Heart, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, Steve Martin and Martin Short, and the Last Podcast on the Left.

Job Description
- Oversees and administers business-critical software applications and other software solutions as assigned.
- Plans, sets up, and configures all applications, modules, and associated subsystems; plans and executes daily operations and regular maintenance for the applications.
- Supervises staff, which includes hiring, promoting, orienting, training, assigning, and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisal, and discipline.
- Provides training and support to internal teams, management, and vendors in identifying application needs and system requirements.
- Resolves complex issues with core applications; this may include troubleshooting, collaborating with internal teams, and project management with County IT and vendors.
- Oversees development, integration, and operation of application interfaces.
- Develops documentation and procedures for support and/or training of new applications and technology products as required.
- Helps develop the annual technology budget and participates in the writing and evaluation of RFPs and bids as directed.
- Plans, designs, and participates in the implementation of complex IT systems in alignment with County IT governance, security, procurement, and operational standards.
- Collaborates with internal and external members to solve complex procedural, operational, and technical problems.
- Articulates technical information and provides it to management and internal teams.
- Assists in continuity and disaster mitigation planning.
- Researches and develops standards, proposals, and processes to prompt efficient use and increase productivity of applications in use by the division.
- Manages the Division’s PCI Compliance process, maintains applicable documentation, and works with other county departments as necessary to ensure it is accurately reported.
- Represents the division in County IT meetings as assigned.
- May oversee compliance with data governance policies and regulations, including GRAMA, PCI, and GDPA. Serves as the data coordinator for the division.
- Information technology management trends, techniques, and best practices
- General business hardware and software systems, database, data management, information applications, reports, and functions; UI/UX
- Business processes, improvements, and methods using technological applications and solutions
- Industry-specific software and hardware systems
- Payment systems and POS; batch processing and balancing procedures
- Effective report writing methods and techniques
- Analyze, comprehend, and resolve complex technical problems related to the assigned applications, software solutions, connected systems, interfaces, and client software components
- Convey technical information effectively to non-technical audiences
- Perform analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Collaborate effectively with technical staff responsible for networking, servers, databases, and front-line support
- Interface effectively with vendors providing escalated technical service/support
- Analyze problems and make sound judgments based on technical data, best practices, and circumstances
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Manage implementation projects for new software applications and technologies as assigned
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Display excellent interpersonal skills
- Prepare and analyze statistical reports
- Effectively educate and train others
