Give a Gift that will Last!

Show your love for the Capitol Theatre by naming a seat of your choice. Ballet West, Utah Opera, and the Salt Lake County Arts & Culture have launched the joint Take Your Seat in History campaign. This campaign allows patrons to name a Capitol Theatre seat for a ten-year period and support the programming in the venue.

Honor a loved one, share a favorite quote, mark a special anniversary, or name a seat for yourself, a child or grandchild. Each gift will be recognized by an elegant brass nameplate on the armrest of the chair of your choice.

Your donation will directly support the creation and production of great performances by resident companies Ballet West, Utah Opera, and the Capitol Theatre New Programming Fund.

We will install a brass plaque on the armrest of each named seat that will remain until December 2029.

The Fine Print
Your donation is 100% tax-deductible. Donations will be collected by Salt Lake County, through ArtTix. The County will process and distribute each contribution.
Seat names are in effect until December 2029, you have the first right of refusal to renew your seat. Once you complete your purchase, you will receive an emailed receipt from ArtTix. Keep this for your tax records. The email receipt also includes a link to a form and instructions on how to provide us the language for your seat plaque. Each seat plaque contains two lines for engraving and each line can have up to 32 characters, including spaces and punctuation. We reserve the right to reject any seat name if the proposed text contains unacceptable language. The naming of a seat does not provide access to any performances; tickets must be purchased separately. When you purchase performance tickets, we cannot guarantee your named seat will be available; however, we will do our best to accommodate your request to sit in your named seat.
